Laura Manning is a director, choreographer, and instructor of jazz and swing-era dances, whose full-time experience working in a city world-renowned for its jazz gives her unique insight she loves sharing with audiences and students alike.

As an instructor, Laura facilitates technically-proficient partner dancing, while guiding students to rely on their own tastes and choices to help them stand out from the crowd as a partnered unit, as well as to shine as individual dancers apart from their partners. She brings her patient disposition, love of dance history, and desire to share what she has learned directing shows, choreographing routines, and working with musicians to every class she teaches.

A 17-year veteran of the scene, Laura has continued to grow as a dancer, jazz aficionado, event promoter, and all-around ambassador of swing. She currently resides in New Orleans, where she leads the all-ages NOLA Chorus Girls, is a liaison between the swing scene and the public schools as head of MindSteppers – a student/partner dance initiative involving over four hundred budding swing dancers – and spends her free time listening to live music and social dancing.
